Episode 11 – Two Stops Over

Part of Paco’s work as a photographer is shooting for clients. In this episode, TSO breaks new ground again by bringing to the fore his experience in working for an 82-year-old retail brand named Speedo.

“It doesn’t get any bigger than this,” he said in the start of the show, but he had no idea what he was getting into.

The management team from Speedo – Betsy Lim, Mayleen Valentino, Edelyn Yanilla, Advertising & Promotions Officer – proved to be a force to be reckoned with, forcing Paco to survive by the skin of his teeth.

“Working with an international photographer is nothing new to us,” Mayleen Valentino quipped.

This anxiety over his work drove Paco to a marathon 15-hour shoot, hoping to photograph what Speedo wanted. Among the models he used the whole day are National Swimmers: Jasmine Alkhaldi, Daniel Coakley, Charlie Walker, Banjo Borja, Jessie Lacuna, Joboy Gonzales and Kendrick Uy, who also represents UPVST; Varsity Swimmers Claire Adorna from UPVST; Jasmine Ong, Celina Gonzalez, and Evan Uy from ADMU; and, Trixcee Tan and Johan Aguilar from DLSU; as well as Sabrina Ingrid Ilustre from UE; and, freelance model Justine Gabionza and a group of kids from Trace College.

The shoot was held at the sprawling property of Trace in Los Baños, particularly the Trace Aquatic Sports Complex, the vision of which is to become a Center of Excellence in aquatic sports in the country. It has an Olympic sized swimming pool with Keifer- McNeil anti-wave lane lines, a setup for water polo, and even an electronic scoreboard and flat screens — among the standards set by Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA), the International Swimming Foundation.

With so much at stake, will Paco be able to face the challenge?
